Ferdinand Wüstenfeld
Ferdinand Wüstenfeld (1808 – 1899) was a German Arabist. He published many books on the literature of the Arabs. One effort of his he dedicated to Coptic literature: he published in 1879 German translation of the first half of the Coptic synaxarium (1 Tut to 30 Amshir) without its original Arabic script. He took it from a 19th century Arabic manuscript (1826) in Gotha.
Wüstenfeld book was in two volumes under the title: السنكساري Synaxarium, Das Ist Heligen –Kalender Der Coptischen Christen (Synaxarium, that is the Holy Calendar of Coptic Christians):
First volume I: Die monate Tut, Babeh and Hatur
Second volume II: Die monate Kihak, Tubeh and Umichir
