2020 has gone with all its good and bad. It wasn’t completely bad but it did test humanity’s nerves, confidence and faith. Many of us have been affected by covid-19 one way or the other; AND fear pervaded many. It was a lesson that humanity is fragile – with one tiny virus it can be brought to its knees, and pride in its security and self-confidence can easily be shattered. For all those who were severely affected by Covid-19 and lost loved ones, may Ephnouti sustain them and rest the souls of those whom they have lost in peace. Amen. And may 2021 brings them joy, health and prosperity.
In 2021 we hope that the cause of Coptic nationalism spreads and the dawn of democracy and human rights approaches fast in Egypt. As we said, the Copts will prosper only in democracy; and they will not be able to revive their language except in an atmosphere of freedom.
In 2021 also we hope that more people may join us in this blog, and that our followers will help to spread the word.
We shall focus in 2021 in establishing the Coptic Language Academy so that the work for the revival of our beautiful language may start in earnest. Let it be also the year in which every Copt starts learning Coptic and manages to compose works of literature in it.
